Welcome to first grade
This year will be GREAT!
General classroom information
Dear Parents and Students,
I would like to welcome you to first grade. I look forward to working with you as we begin an exciting new school year.

This year your child’s specials will be at 1:30-2:15.
Monday - Gym Students must wear sneakers to school
Tuesday - Art
Wednesday -
Thursday – Library
Friday - Music

The morning recess is 10:30 - 10:45. We will have a short (10 minutes) snack time in our classroom before we go outside for morning recess. We encourage you to send in one small, healthy snack and drink. Snack and milk cannot be purchased. Please separate your child’s snack and lunch. Maybe put them in different containers so they don’t eat their lunch at snack time. Our lunch is 11:45 - 12:10. A lunch menu is available on the school website. Lunch and milk money should be sent in at the beginning of each week or beginning of the month. Please write your child’s full name and grade on the envelope. Afternoon recess is 2:15 - 2:30.

The children will bring home a blue with papers for you. The folder should be sent to school every day to help the children stay organized and allow you to get the information you need in a timely manner. Homework (beginning in a few weeks) should be placed in the folder to return to school. I send home instructions with each new routine. Please look for the directions so you can help your child.
We will not have food items for birthday snacks this year due to allergies. You could send in a nonfood snack, like pencils or stickers.
The classroom will need supplies throughout the year. Whenever you feel you can donate an item, please send them in with your child. We need disinfecting wipes (to try to stay healthy), tissues and glue sticks. Thank you to everyone who already sent some in on the first day of school.

I can be reached through the school website at or by phone at 527-0811. Email tends to be easier, however please don’t hesitate to contact me if you have questions or concerns throughout the year.
